WELCOME MESSAGEAUTEX 2017 CONFERENCE - SHAPING THE FUTURE OF TEXTILES

Dr. Georgios Priniotakis imageDear colleagues, students, experts

Welcome to the official website of the 17th World Textile Conference AUTEX 2017- Textiles - Shaping the Future, which will be held from 29–31 May 2017 in Corfu (Kerkyra), Greece. The conference will be organized by the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, Department of Textile Engineering. It is our great honor and responsibility to host the AUTEX 2017 Conference in Greece.

The AUTEX Conference is one of the most important scientific events in the international community of textiles, aimed to bring together leading researchers, experts, people from the industry and students from all over the world to share their knowledge and exchange scientific ideas.

The Organizing and Scientific Committees would like to highlight the importance of the AUTEX Conference as a textile platform offering the participants from Universities and research centers to present and the participants from Industry to discuss the most recent research investigations, new perspectives and future directions. Many supporting social events enriching the scientific program will be organized as well.

AUTEX 2017, will be held in Corfu also known as Kerkyra one of the most cosmopolitan islands of Greece. The island is located on the northern side of the Ionian Sea and it is a place with long history and rich tradition. The first governor of modern Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias, was originated from Corfu. Corfu island has numerous wonderful sights. Many conquerors arrived on the island through centuries, including British and Italians, leaving an evident mark on the local culture.

We look forward to seeing you in Corfu, next May!
